Where: Richmond, VA • Brook Road Notes: It is believed that this is one of the same pair of local Red-tails that I have photographed in the past (05-31-10). They have a favorite perching tree about a mile from my house at a location that I pass all the time. Just over a month ago in the mid-day heat, two days in a row, one of those raptors was sitting in that very same tree. I made the trek back to the house to get the camera, tripod and lens; not to be disappointed when I returned. The bird was still there, and even better, it was sitting with its red tail towards me. This had not happened before, when shooting this species. It is always nice to capture any identification marks that make any particular species unique from others. |
