Where: Richmond, VA • Glidewell Rd. Notes: Ever since a birdbath first graced my backyard landscaping, I was amazed at how many different species were attracted to its trickling sound. Two dozen different species have been counted at that one little puddle. Not just birds, but raccoons, opossums, squirrels, toads, mice and other wild life too. So, I was sure to include a small water feature in the landscaping plans at my new residence. I took into consideration such things as available space, light direction, sunlight amount, and viewing distance. I prefer to use a natural bowl-shaped stone with a hidden reservoir, pump and filter. This gives it a more natural look, like a small creek or spring and thus becomes a great photo opportunity as well.
