Where: Chesterfield County, VA • Henricus Conservation Area Notes: This past spring I was blessed with the close presence of several different warbler species. Prothonoyaries are one of the true jewesl of the Richmond area. The many woodland swamps and deciduous riverside lowlands provide the desired habitat this species requires. They have the appearence of a florescent pingpong ball bouncing through the forest understory as they flitter about in search of food. I like this photo so much I made it the cover of the 2010 iPhotoBirds.com Calendar.
