Where: Chesterfield County, VA • Henricus Conservation Area Notes: Each week of spring that passes brings new and additional sounds to the air. A week ago the trees were full of a greater diversity of Warblers. Already, some of those birds have headed to their breeding grounds to the north and west. New birds have arrived to take their place. Several times in the past I had followed a Redstart around the lower forest canopy with my camera, but I had no pictures to show for it. Well, persistence finally paid off. This day there seemed to be Redstarts singing everywhere I walked. As this bird foraged for food it would stop, perch and sing. Next it would fly or creep to the next branch in search of insects, then pause, sing and search some more...
