Where: Murrells Inlet, SC • Business Rt. 17 Notes: This bird is another joyful creature that no longer reminds me of what mankind's negative impact has been on our environment in the past. This is one of our success stories. We have proven that we have the ability to reverse and learn from our mistakes. Now every time I see the six foot plus wingspan of a pelican gliding inches over the water surface or diving from twenty feet up for fish over the ocean, it is proof to me that we can sometimes mend the damages we have done. While the Bald Eagles, Ospreys and Pelicans enjoy population growth and territory expansion, other species are disappearing at drastic rates. This is once again due to our impact on the climate. It will take ALL of us this time to slow the progression of global warming because of the magnitude of our strain on the ecosystem. For generations to come we must live "green" or many more of God's creatures will struggle and perish, never to be seen or enjoyed again.
