Where: Willis Wharf, VA • Canal Tidal Zone Notes: Finally the winds died down enough to put the canoe in the water along the coast that weekend. We slipped as far back into the back cove as we could at low tide. Then as the tide came back in the water rose and the shorebirds had less and less places to feed. This occurrence brought us in closer. I believe our approach from the canoe made us less obtrusive to this bird as well.
