Where: Highland County, VA • Near Blue Grass, VA Notes: I almost passed by this opportunity to photograph this species. But because I still have an appreciation for all birds, even the over-populated and common ones, I had stopped on a return walk down the mountain in Highland County to take these shots. Later I realized these were not just the common Carolina Chickadees I had at home because I was at 3,200 feet in elevation where there are only "Black-caps".
