Where: Chincoteague, VA • Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge Notes: The soft morning light is very kind to photographers and this photo is a result of that fact. Light direction absolutely makes or breaks an image. Even though there is some back-lighting on this bird's front shoulder, its head was turned to catch the gentle early light. The still water and clear blue skies supply an ora of calmness. A higher f-stop let me keep more of the reflection on focus.
