Where: Charles City, VA • Lawrence Lewis, Jr. Park/Wilcox Wharf Notes: I visited this nest over a year ago and again just a few weeks ago. Then an unexpected weekend off found me sitting for hours in a blind at this Bald Eagle nest site doing what I love to do, photographing birds. I am truly Blessed. This adult flew in and dropped off a small catfish for the two eaglet's brunch and immediately flew off. The chicks ducked down as the adult came in for a landing. The eaglets were content for the next few hours to pick away at the fresh fish while one of the adults stayed within watchful distance. Someone once asked me if I thought birds get bored. I don't know if that is true, but after the hours it took to get this shot I know for sure they are patient!
