Notes: I had seen this Juvenile Black-crowned Night Heron a couple of weeks before at Echo Lake Park where I often take my morning walk. I was amazed that he let me creep up so close to him. Every time I took a step her would turn and look at me, I would stop and freeze until he looked the other way. Then I would step again. I soon found myself only six feet away from him and at eye level. He even let me reach forward and move a branch that was in my field of view out of the way!
