Notes: My new venture into Richmond got off to a good start on my first chance to get out and explore. This American Widgeon was apart of a mixed flock of Ring-necked Ducks that occurred at this medium sized park pond in the heart of Richmond. Also at the pond were 50-60 Canada Geese and a pair of Mallards. I walked several loops around the pond in order to get as close as I could and to position the sun behind me. Finally everything lined up just right.
